„Designing the German Energy Transition in a nature-compatible way“ Work package C Knowledge transfer

Aims and contents
One main focus is to prepare information on the inclusion of potential future technologies in order to optimize spatial scenarios for a nature-compatible energy transition. These scenarios are prepared by the project partners of the University of Hannover. Another key aspect of work package C is the reduction of future energy demand, which forms the basis of all energy scenarios. For example, the promotion of energy-saving behavior (sufficiency), as well as the societal debate about its significance for a nature-compatible energy transition, is linked to this.


The project is divided into the following work packages:
 
C1: Networking with other relevant research projects of the German Federal Agency of Nature Conservation
C2: Improving the knowledge base on future technologies The knowledge base shall be expanded with the help of expert interviews and a dialogue forum on future technologies. As a result, guidelines that promote technology aligned with nature protection should be derived, as well as suggestions regarding the spatial development scenarios of renewable energies, to be prepared by the project partners.
C3: Energy demand and nature conservation Establishment of a strategic partnership of various multipliers with broad public impact (associa-tions, ministries, nature conservation academies, etc.) to reduce energy demand and to establish societal debates as well as the importance of lowering energy consumption for a nature-friendly energy transition (expert workshop and dialogue forum).
C4: Commissioning of expert reports on selected issues
C5: Implementation of a dialogue forum to present the spatial energy scenarios
